Opened in 1923, Peckham Rye Lido was situated to the north of East Dulwich Road, and provided local residents with 180 feet of open air swimming pool. After 60 years of use, the lido closed in 1987, and unable to find a buyer, the council eventually covered over the pool with earth and grass. All that remains today is a large blue fountain that once stood at the northern end of the swimming pool.

In 2014, a campaign was started to encourage Southwark Council to reinstate the Peckham Rye Lido. The campaign momentum is building, and Place in Print were approached with a view to creating a masthead for the campaign's social media profiles. We then struck upon the idea of creating a proper print out of the image, and offering it for sale to the public with a share of the proceeds going towards the campaign.

Framing

Take the hassle out of your print purchase by buying it ready-framed in one of our made-to-measure picture frames. Framed prints are dispatched just as quickly as unframed prints.

1. Pick a Frame

Pick from a choice of white, black or natural/unpainted frame colours. Our frames are made from wood from sustainable sources. The white and black frames have a smooth coating (no wood grain visible).

2. We Frame Your Print

Your print will be framed for you and quality-checked to ensure that it looks perfect before being sent out to you.

3. Delivered Safe and Sound

We package framed prints very carefully using a system of cardboard boxes and protective packaging before sending them out to you. In the unlikely event that your frame is damaged in transit, we'll replace it - no problem!

Printing Process

To produce our fine art giclée prints, we employ a specialist process which combines pigment inks with archival paper. This unique combination allows us to use vibrant colours which won't fade.

1. Ink

Tiny dots of ink are sprayed over the paper, colour-matching the on-screen design as closely as possible.

2. Paper

A thick, slightly off-white soft textured archival paper is used to give a sense of depth to the artwork.

3. Authenticity

We hand emboss many of our prints, and our limited edition prints are also hand numbered and titled, adding authenticity to your purchase.

Delivery & Returns

Whether you're buying a framed print or a greetings card, we aim to dispatch all orders as quickly as possible (1-3 days).

Standard UK Delivery

Prices start from £1.00 (see full price list), but currently free for all orders. The majority of orders are sent by Royal Mail 48, and should arrive 2-3 working days after dispatch.

Express UK Delivery

Prices start from £1.75 (see full price list). The majority of these orders are sent by Royal Mail 24, and should arrive 1-2 working days after dispatch.

International Delivery

Prices start from £6.95 (see full price list). Delivery times vary depending on destination, but are usually a maximum of 7-10 working days after dispatch. We use acrylic glazing for framed prints in order to minimise the risk of damage in transit.

We offer a no-quibble returns policy
If for any reason you wish to return your order, all you need to do is let us know within 14 days of receipt of the order. You then have a further 14 days to return the item to us. Once we have received your item, we will either issue a refund to you or exchange your purchase as requested.
