Place in Print stocks a variety of Clapham themed prints, posters, books, maps, homewares, clothing and gifts. Clapham is an area of South West London, mostly within the borough of Lambeth. The area is well known for its 220 acre common, as well as Clapham Old Town and Abbeville Village. The area benefits from strong transport links thanks to the Northern Line of the London Underground running through the area.
Arding and Hobbs
Clapham Junction's Arding and Hobbs department store was first constructed in 1885, although a refurbishment took place in 1909 which saw the addition of the famous cupola. The store was one of two which were allowed to keep their own branding, rather than adopt the Allders name. Since Allders went into liquidation, the building has been home to a Debenhams and TK Maxx. Much of the original Arding and Hobbs branding remains.
This fine art print by South London Prints celebrates the landmark that is Arding and Hobbs in Clapham Junction. The building is an instantly recognisable feature of the area's skyline. Available in a choice of frame options, what better way to celebrate the historic store.
