Place in Print stocks a variety of Clapham themed prints, posters, books, maps, homewares, clothing and gifts. Clapham is an area of South West London, mostly within the borough of Lambeth. The area is well known for its 220 acre common, as well as Clapham Old Town and Abbeville Village. The area benefits from strong transport links thanks to the Northern Line of the London Underground running through the area.
Clapham North Station Platform
Clapham North Underground Station is a Northern Line tube station situated in Clapham, South London. The station was opened in 1900 as part of the City & South London Railway, and is one of only two remaining with a central platform, and one of eight with a deep-level air-raid shelter beneath it.
The central island platform is the main subject of this piece of artwork by South London Prints. The gentle curve of the platform is echoed by the curve of the waiting train. A simple selection of colours is used to set the scene.
